Featuring contributions from Instupendo and Nosaj Thing, and produced by Chaz Bear (Toro y Moi), "Lightspeed" is now released. Elijah Kessler was still a teenager when the first sessions that would later become "LIGHTSPEED" took place, but he had established his unique style of melodic rap since childhood. After working with Instupendo in high school, he began to release music publicly, uploading songs to Soundcloud from his dorm room at boarding school. His music caught the attention of Chaz Bear, also known as Toro y Moi, and their collaboration began after he participated in Toro y Moi's mixtape "Soul Trash". With the concept for the album in mind, Elijah set up a makeshift studio in the basement of his home. They immediately recorded a demo and sent it to Bear. Bear polished it with his own unique filter, transforming it into something entirely new. In this way, a unique sound was being created, fusing Elijah's improvisational and melodic talent with Bear's sonic palette. Over the next few years, the project continued to grow with the participation of renowned producers Nosaj Thing and Instupendo, and individual sessions continued between Miami, New York, and San Francisco, until the album took shape.
