The "Dreams On Toast Tour" will consist of 17 shows across the country, concluding at London's OVO Wembley Arena on March 29th. They will be supported by Ash, the Northern Irish indie rock heroes who supported The Darkness on their legendary "Permission To Land Tour" more than 20 years ago. And no one surpasses Taylor Swift in that regard. Last week at the US Open, she made headlines on the internet by singing the band's timeless hit "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" with Travis Kelce. As a result, her fans have propelled the song to the top of charts worldwide, including reaching number one on the US iTunes rock chart, 21 years after its release. And now, with the release of 'Dreams On Toast' in March 2025, The Darkness delivers a new collection of triumphs: solid gold rock bangers and heart-pounding concerts. The Darkness was formed in Suffolk, England in 2000. The members are Justin Hawkins (vocals & guitar), Dan Hawkins (guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass), and Rufus Taylor (drums). Centered around Justin Hawkins' high-pitched vocals, their sound is influenced by 70s hard rock, drawing on AC/DC, Queen (drummer Rufus Taylor is the son of Queen's Roger Taylor), Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and others. In 2003, they released their debut album, "Permission to Land," which reached number 1 on the UK charts and number 36 on the US charts. Five singles were released from the album, with "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" reaching number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The following year, 2004, the band won three Brit Awards: Best Group, Best Rock Group, and Best Album. They also won two Kerrang! Awards: Best Live Act and Best British Band. In 2005, they released their second album, "One Way Ticket To Hell...And Back," but the following year, 2006, Justin Hawkins left the band, effectively leading to their disbandment. In 2011, they reformed. In 2012, they released their third album, "Hot Cakes," which reached number 4 on the UK charts. In 2015, they released their fourth album, "Last Of Our Kind" (UK chart #12), followed by their fifth album, "Pinewood Smile" (UK chart #8) in 2017, their sixth album, "Easter Is Cancelled" (UK chart #10) in 2019, and their latest album, "Motorheart" (UK chart #16) in 2021.
