Folk metal is a genre that incorporates elements of traditional music into heavy metal, and in Elvenking's case, it is characterized not only by the fusion of power metal and folk music, but also by influences from progressive rock and classical music. Elvenking was formed in the fall of 1997 by two guitarists, Aidan (Federico Baston) and Yarpen (Mattia Carnier), who share a passion for heavy metal and folklore (traditional music). After making their record debut in 2001 with "Heathenreel," they quickly achieved success on the European continent. Their second album, "Wyrd," released in 2004, saw the addition of a violinist as a permanent member, further deepening their folk-metal sound. Their 2014 album, "The Pagan Manifesto," marked their major breakthrough as a pagan metal band. Elvenking has released 11 studio albums to date, with their 12th and latest album scheduled for release in the fall of 2024. METAL-VYBE is releasing six of Elvenking's early works, including their brilliant debut album, all at once. Notably, four of these six titles are being released in Japan for the first time.
