Product Description
Enja's history began here! This is Enja's momentous first release, a recording of the Mal Waldron Trio's live performance at the West German club "Domishil" in June 1971! A smoky trio of Mal, Jimmy Woody, and Pierre Favre creates a pitch-black jazz world! Enja is a label founded in the early 1970s by Horst Weber, an apparel buyer, and Matthias Winkelmann, an avid jazz fan and then a student at the University of Munich, who wanted to produce Mal Waldron's albums themselves. Their wish came true with this memorable first release from Enja, a recording of Mal's live performance at the Munich club "Domishil" on June 29, 1971. Mal's simple piano shines brightly over the pitch-black groove created by Jimmy Woody and Pierre Favre! [TRACKLIST] 1. Sieg Haile 2. La Gloire du Noir 3. The Call 4. Rock My Soul
