Contents: Bristol-based post-punk band Idles have completed their new album. Two years after their previous album, which won Best Album at the Ivor Novello Awards and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, their third album, "Ultra Mono," is released. Produced by: Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire) & Adam Greenspan (Anna Calvi, Cut Copy) Guests: Jehnny Beth (Savages), Warren Ellis (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds), David You, Jamie Cullum On September 25, 2020, IDLES will release their long-awaited third album, "Ultra Mono," via Partisan Records. "Ultra Mono" was recorded in Paris under the production of Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire) and Adam ?eAtom?f Greenspan (Anna Calvi, Cut Copy). Kenny Beats (FKA Twigs, DaBaby, Vince Staples) added programming, and the album's sound was constructed to capture the feel of a hip-hop record. The album tackles themes that are still present today, such as active occupation, inclusivity, class, gender inequality, nationalism, community, and toxic masculinity, and the biting cynicism and blatant social commentary that have been expressed in his previous works are doubled. Jehnny Beth (Savages) is featured as a guest vocalist, and Warren Ellis (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), David Yow, and Jamie Cullum also contributed. IDLES is a post-punk band formed in Bristol, England. The band consists of five members: Joe Talbot (vocals), Adam Devonshire (bass), Mark Bowen (guitars), Lee Kiernan (guitars), and Jon Beaorlandovis (drums). They released their debut album, "Brutalism," in 2017. The album received critical acclaim, and the band also supported The Maccabees and Foo Fighters. In 2018, they released their second album, "Joy As An Act Of Resistance." The album reached number 5 on the UK charts, and most major media outlets ranked it among the best albums of the year. It won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band was also nominated for Breakthrough Artist at the Brit Awards. [TRACKLIST] 1. War 2. Grounds 3.
