The Go! Team, the Brighton-based band led by Ian Parton, has completed their new album. Their seventh album, "Get Up Sequences Part Two," features voices from around the world, including Benin, Japan, France, India, Texas, and Detroit. Guests: Star Feminine Band (West African girl group), Neha Hatwar (Indian singer), Chisato Kokubo (vocalist of J-Pop indie band Lucie, Too), Indigoyaji (19-year-old Detroit rapper), Hilary Bratset (formerly of Apples in Stereo), Nitty Scott (Brooklyn rapper), and others. Across their six albums, The Go! Team has taken musical day trips to other lands, immersing themselves in different cultures. But with their seventh album, they've bought a ticket to tour the world. The band visits Benin, Japan, France, India, Texas, and Detroit?all of these cities. Here, diverse voices from various cultural spheres around the world clash. Yet, the sound is unmistakably The Go! Team. They pave the way for kaleidoscopes, cable access, and channel hop. The album features vocals from numerous artists, including Star Feminine Band (a West African girl group), Neha Hatwar (an Indian singer), Chisato Kokubo (vocalist of the J-Pop indie band Lucie, Too), IndigoYaj (a 19-year-old rapper from Detroit), Hilarie Bratset (formerly of Apples in Stereo), Nitty Scott (a Brooklyn rapper), and many others, all alongside Ninja, the central figure of The Go! Team. Following 2021's "Get Up Sequences Part One," "Part Two" carries on the sensibility of Technicolor's Overlord. Both works, eclectic yet tight, chaotic yet consistent, are obsessed with the power of basslines and backbeats. "It's like you're grasping all the good things at once. This record is saying, 'Look at this. Look at that too.' When you listen to it, I want you to increase the saturation level of the world. For me, The Go! Team records get groovier and groovier. And for me, grooviness is life itself," says Ian Parton. Eighteen years after their debut LP, The Go! Team is unlike anyone else, and with 'Get Up Sequences Part Two,' they deliver a fresh sound reminiscent of Club Soda. The Go! Team started around 2000 in Brighton, England, as Ian Parton's solo project, and released their debut album 'Thunder, Lightning, Strike' in 2004. The album was nominated for the Mercury Prize and gained popularity. The songs "The Power Is On" were used in a Nike commercial in 2006, "Get It Together" in an AXE commercial in 2007, and "Feelgood by Numbers" in a Nissan CUBE commercial in 2010. In 2007, they released their second album, "Proof Of Youth." It garnered attention for features such as Chuck D of Public Enemy contributing raps, achieved significant chart success, and its track "Titanic Vandalism" was used in a DOCOMO commercial. In 2011, they released their third album, "Rolling Blackouts," which received critical acclaim. Following this, Ian Parton participated in an album by the Manchester psychedelic band Whyte Horses and composed/arranged Momoiro Clover Z's "R?d? Sanka." Guitarist Sam Dook released an album with Mike Watt (Minutemen) under the project Cuz, and rapper Ninja pursued a solo career, with each member working on their own projects. In March 2015, the band released "The Scene Between," their first album in four years. In January 2018, they released their fifth album, 'Semicircle', which became a UK Top 40 hit, and in July 2021, they released their sixth album, 'Get Up Sequences Part One'. [TRACKLIST] 1.
