Synopsis Drugdealer, a project by Michael Collins active in the LA psychedelic scene, plays classic modern pop reminiscent of 70s Laurel Canyon. Their third album, "Hiding In Plain Sight," is being released by Mexican Summer, three and a half years after their previous release. This third album, their first in three and a half years, encapsulates Collins' journey from dissatisfaction and anxiety about his own voice to finding love among those around him and ultimately gaining the voice to sing it. The album features guest appearances from Tim Presley (White Fence), Kate Bollinger, Bambina, Sasha Winn, Sean Nicholas Savage, Video Age, John Carroll Kirby, and others. Michael Collins, who had been active in various projects, started Drugdealer under the influence of soft rock pioneers such as Harry Nilsson and Steely Dan, in order to pursue a sound reminiscent of early 1970s singer-songwriters. In 2016, he released his debut album, "The End Of Comedy," on Domino's subsidiary Weird World, featuring guest appearances by Weyes Blood and Ariel Pink.
