The songs, all written with a desert theme, show influences from various genres including classical, contemporary music, progressive rock, and jazz. While the songs are intricately composed with complex time signatures and technical riffs, catchy and memorable melodies form the core, and the tracks progress dramatically, like reading a story. The album also features one-point recording in a hall to bring out the breath of the acoustics. There, a grand world unfolds that transcends the conventional piano trio sound, reminiscent of an orchestra. Furthermore, five of the tracks were recorded with twin drums, making this an ambitious work.
