Their fifth album, "Inner World Peace," exploring the possibilities of quantum time/the invisible world, is released by Sub Pop. On October 21, 2022, Frankie Cosmos will release their fifth album, "Inner World Peace," worldwide via Sub Pop. Featuring tracks such as "One Year Stand," "F.O.O.F," "Aftershook," and "Empty Head," the album was recorded at Figure 8 Recording in Brooklyn, New York, under the co-production of Frankie Cosmos, Nate Mendelsohn, and Katie Von Schleicher. Mendelsohn and Von Schleicher handled the mixing, and Josh Bonati of Bonati Mastering handled the mastering. The album artwork also features illustrations by band member Lauren Martin. Greta Kline spent several years writing songs while living with her family until the members of Frankie Cosmos reunited in the studio. The band had been on hiatus due to the pandemic, unsure whether it would continue. Releasing those anxieties, they planned to hang out and play music together for the first time in about 500 days. They selected songs from the vast number Greta had written and created an album. "This is an album about perception. The question of who I am and whether the answer is important. About quantum time, the possibilities of the invisible world. This album is about discovering myself fluctuating in a new context. Going back to being a teenager living with my parents again. Becoming an adult and choosing to live with family as an act of love. Time has moved us forward, aged us, and frozen us. If you don't leave your house, what do you become to the world? Can you bring the people you discover there out into the world?" says Greta. Frankie Cosmos is a solo project by singer-songwriter Greta Kline. Born in New York in 1994, she is the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Kevin Kline and actress Phoebe Cates. Influenced by the DIY scene represented by K Records and the anti-folk scene of New York in the early 2000s, Greta began releasing music on Bandcamp under the name Ingrid Superstar. In 2011, she launched Frankie Cosmos. Frankie Cosmos independently released their debut album, "Zentropy," in 2014, receiving positive reviews, including an 8.0/10 rating from Pitchfork. In 2016, they released their second album, "Next Thing," on Bayonet Records. The album was also selected as Best New Music by Pitchfork and received an 8.5/10 rating. It charted on Billboard's Indie Albums chart and Heatseekers chart, and was selected as one of the best albums of the year by Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, Paste, The Skinny, Stereogum, and others. Later, they moved to Sub Pop. In March 2018, they released their third album, 'Vessel', and in September 2019, their fourth album, 'Close It Quietly'. [TRACKLIST] 1. Abigail 2. Aftershook 3.
