First release of 8 titles, released March 24, 2021. SUSSEX was a prestigious soul/funk label on the American West Coast that was active for five years from 1970 to 1975. Owner Clarence Avant was a talented producer who discovered Grammy Award-winning artist Bill Withers at Sussex and sent him to a major label. He is also known for later founding Tabu Records, which produced artists such as the S.O.S. Band and Jam & Lewis. Many of the label's works were produced by Van McCoy, and their sound had a great influence on hip-hop producers, leaving behind many tracks that are famous as sampling sources. This marks the first time in Japan that the complete catalog reissue of the prestigious Sussex label has been released! This is the only album by Segments of Time, a three-man soul group that was the predecessor to the Royal Esquires, famous for their Northern Soul hit "Ain't Gonna Run."
