About the Artist: Moses Sumney releases his double album 'gr?' via Jagjaguwar. This follows his critically acclaimed debut album 'Aromanticism', released in 2017, and is a conceptual patchwork about grayness (an achromatic intermediate color between black and white). The album is composed of two parts; the first part was released digitally in February 2020, and the first and second parts were released together physically in May. 'gr?' features a variety of musical styles, but it's Moses's overwhelming vocals that connect these disparate pieces together. For the album's creation, Moses established a new home in Asheville, North Carolina, where he wrote the songs for the first time and completed them with numerous collaborators. The process was a creation of paradox, a solidification of art and artistry. The first part, already released digitally, has already generated significant buzz, with Pitchfork selecting the track "Polly" as Best New Music and publishing an extensive interview.
