About the Artist A large 10-piece band consisting of 6 horns + piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Their cutting-edge London jazz sound transcends genres with ethnic influences, mixing old jazz with new soul. Their grooves are influenced by West Africa and the Caribbean, and they incorporate spoken word, quoting the poet Langston Hughes. The members include leader Cathy Kinosi (A.sax, Kokoroko, N?rija), who was selected as the "Jazz FM Breakthrough Act of the Year 2019," Sheila Maurice Gray (tp, leader of Kokoroko), Chelsea Carmichael (ts), who is credited on Puma Blue and Moses Boyd's latest album "Dark Matter," Joe Armon-Jones (Ezra Collective) and Sarah Tandy sharing keyboards equally, and the phenomenal tuba player Theon Cross (Sons of Kemet), among other powerful artists.
