Introduction From the up-and-coming music label "epistroph," home to WONK, comes the debut of newcomer 'MELRAW,' reminiscent of Kamasi Washington and Terrace Martin! About the Artist Kohei Ando, ??known as a support member for WONK, is a multi-instrumentalist who moves freely between saxophone, flute, trumpet, guitar, synthesizer, and MPC, and has finally launched his solo project 'MELRAW.' This work, "Pilgrim," is also appealing for its unique concept, being created by the mind control of an alien calling himself MELRAW who is obsessed with music. Featured artists include WONK members who are labelmates, as well as young artists who are shaping the scene, such as Ryofu from KANDYTOWN, who just released his first nationwide EP in October, Dyypride (ex. SIMI LAB), Sara Yoshida from Mononkul, Matzuda Hiromu, and Ai Ninomiya. The participating members include Kohei Ando, ??as well as internationally renowned jazz musicians such as Shun Ishiwaka (drums), Jun Miyagawa (piano/keyboards), Keisuke Furuki (bass), and members of WONK, resulting in a high level of performance.
