Contents Introduction This project commemorates the 40th anniversary of the release of the hit song "Sky High," which topped the Oricon Singles Chart for 11 consecutive weeks, sold 1.2 million copies, and set a new record as the best-selling foreign single of 1977! "Sky High" by the British rock band Jigsaw, which continues to be loved as a rock anthem used in TV commercials and other media, was first played as the entrance theme for Mil Mascaras at a professional wrestling venue (Korakuen Hall) on February 19, 2017. This year, February 19th has been named "Sky High Memorial Day"! And to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the hit song "Sky High," a remix collection of "Sky High" and an original album by Jigsaw will be released all at once. The first release will consist of 3 titles on September 20th (Wednesday), 2017, and the second release will consist of 3 titles on November 8th (Wednesday). DISC1 includes two new tracks as the latest remix versions commemorating the 40th anniversary in 2017, including MURO's "Sky High (MURO'S LOVERS MIX 2017)"! It features the complete remix version of "Sky High," which has spawned numerous famous remixes since its release, as well as solo works by Des Dyer (vo) and rare unreleased tracks from the 80s that were not included on albums. DISC2 couples two works that were originally released only in Japan, the original album "Journey into the Space" (1979), and the compilation album "Jigsaw: Twelve Chapters of Love," which includes nine new songs and alternate takes, and is being released on CD for the first time! The jacket is reversible, with newly created artwork and the original jacket of "Journey into the Space" on the front and back covers. The booklet contains detailed commentary, a history of Jigsaw, as well as single jackets, the jacket of "Jigsaw: Twelve Chapters of Love," rare photos, lyrics, and more. Members are Des Dyer (vocals, drums), Clive Scott (keyboards), Tony Campbell (guitar), and Barry Bernard (bass). Debuting in 1968, they released their debut album in 1971 and have released eight albums in total. In their early days, they were an all-around band, performing everything from bluesy rock numbers to white doo-wop and progressive rock. Later, they gained popularity with their pop-infused melodies, exemplified by "Sky High." The mystery of "Sky High": In 1974, the year before their deaths, "Who Do You Think You Are" (Japanese title: "Koi no Ayamachi") reached number 15 in the US and number 21 in the UK. The following year, 1975 (two years before it became a massive hit in Japan), they received a request through a music publisher to write the theme song for the Hong Kong-Australian co-production film "The Man From Hong Kong." They brilliantly composed and recorded the song in just three days. The world-famous hit "Sky High" was born! In October 1975, it reached number 3 in the US and number 9 in the UK, and subsequently topped the charts in Germany, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, becoming a global hit. Furthermore, in Japan, in the spring of 1977, the song became an even bigger hit when it was used as the theme song for Mil Mascaras, a popular foreign wrestler in All Japan Pro Wrestling, during Nippon Television's pro wrestling broadcasts. It played a major role in establishing the now-standard style of pro wrestlers and their entrance music, and it has become an enduring masterpiece that will forever shine in the 21st century. The band continued to release works after that and disbanded on December 31, 1981.
