Their previous album, 'The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons', released in 2023, marked a momentous comeback after a decade of silence and received acclaim from numerous media outlets including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and Stereogum. The production of the subsequent 'The Hives Forever Forever The Hives' took place at both Yung Lean/YEAR0001's studio and Riksmixningsverke, a studio in Stockholm named after Benny Andersson (ABBA). The recording took place under the guidance of longtime collaborator Pelle Gunnerfeldt, widely known for his work with Viagra Boys, Yung Lean, and Elvira. Furthermore, Mike D of the Beastie Boys also participated in the creation of this masterpiece, welcoming the band to his studio on the Malibu coast.
