Bibio & Dorian Concept Answers [Bonus Track] (BRC831) Japan Music CD

Product Description
Bibio and Dorian Concept release their first collaborative album, 'ANSWERS'! Bibio, whose real name is Stephen Wilkinson, and Dorian Concept, whose real name is Oliver Johnson, have released their first collaborative album, 'Answers', on Warp Records. Since first meeting in 2009, the two have built a creative relationship for over 15 years through live performances, shared interests, and a continuous exchange of music and ideas. In 'Answers', their ongoing dialogue culminates in a complete collaborative work. At its core is the idea of ??"looking back at the past in order to move forward." Based in Vienna, Wolverhampton, and the Welsh countryside, the two exchanged songs, videos, and ideas via email, WhatsApp, and shared folders. They developed their music through an intuitive process of listening, changing, and responding, with each responding to what the other sent. This collaboration was sparked when Wilkinson saw Dorian Concept's 2022 video work, "Let It All Go." This led Wilkinson to propose a collaborative audio-visual project to Johnson, which resulted in Johnson, as Bibio, contributing guitar to Dorian Concept's 2025 album, "Miniatures." This production process also extended to the visual works that adorned the album. Wilkinson and Johnson collaborated on five video works, utilizing analog and early digital video cameras, VHS-C, MiniDV, VJ equipment, video mixers, and modified analog video equipment, actively incorporating the glitches, imperfections, unexpected image distortions, and artifacts that aging equipment produces. Footage shot around them became material for processing and layering, transforming natural landscapes and everyday moments into new forms of visual expression through both analog and digital processes.
