Black Country, New Road announces their long-awaited new album, "Forever Howlong"! Black Country, New Road (hereinafter BC,NR), who boast high praise and popularity for their unique ensemble that combines fragility and strength, will release their long-awaited 3rd album, "Forever Howlong," on April 4th (Friday) via Ninja Tune. Along with this, their 1st single, "Besties," has been released. Their 2021 debut album, "For the First Time," reached number 4 on the UK charts and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, and their 2nd album the following year, "Ants From Up There," reached number 3 in the UK. In 2023, they released the live album "Live at Bush Hall," which consisted entirely of new songs, proving the band's unity and evolution. With their long-awaited 3rd album, they are once again heading towards new musical horizons. For this album, BC,NR has enlisted James Ford, producer of numerous masterpieces by artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Beth Gibbons, Depeche Mode, and Fontaines D.C., to try a new formation. The three female members, Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and May Kershaw, share lead vocals and songwriting for most of the tracks. Georgia commented, "Having three female members singing gave the album a consistent theme," and "Adding a female perspective made it a completely different work from 'Ants From Up There.' I think the music itself is influenced by that." The album's opening single, "Besties," is Georgia Ellery's first release as the lead vocalist. The music video was directed by Leanne White, who has worked with Franz Ferdinand, Aurora, and Young Fathers. Pay attention to the beautiful visuals that bring out the song's charm to the fullest. Even in a constantly changing environment, they have adapted flexibly, overcome difficulties, built a strong bond, and continued to evolve. Composed of members with a classical music background and those who learned music through self-study, BC,NR's unique talent led them to gain stage experience alongside Black Midi and Squid at The Windmill, a musical mecca of the South London indie rock scene, in the late 2010s, and they grew to be praised by The Quietus magazine as "the best band in the world." Their latest album, "Forever Howlong," incorporates diverse genres such as folk, progressive rock, baroque pop, and alternative rock, reflecting a wide range of musical influences from Joanna Newsom, Randy Newman, Fiona Apple, to Janis Ian. However, even amidst all this, BC,NR's unique and original sound remains unwavering, demonstrating a sense of unity and focus as a new collective music that fuses the three members' different voices and styles. The domestic CD and LP editions with Japanese obi strips include lyric translations and liner notes. First-come, first-served bonus: rubber keychain (ends up) 01. Besties 02. The Big Spin 03.
