Produced by Philippe Zdar, one half of Cassius, a pioneer of French Touch alongside Daft Punk, and also known for his work on Phoenix's albums, Franz Ferdinand's 5th album from 2018, "Always Ascending," follows their FFS album "F.F.S." (2015), a collaboration with Sparks. The synth sounds and melodic development of this album are reminiscent of their beloved Sparks, and the album shows the band's past and future blended together, marking the beginning of Franz Ferdinand's second act. This reissue comes in a paper sleeve and includes a booklet with updated Japanese liner notes and lyric translations. The first pressing includes a logo sticker as a bonus. Additionally, "Demagogue" is included as a bonus track.
