Thundercat, one of the most popular figures in the LA jazz scene, has released his latest album on CD with bonus tracks! Co-produced by Flying Lotus! Thundercat is a top-class bassist in terms of popularity, skill, and attention, having participated in Flying Lotus's works, including his 2014 album "You're Dead!" which was critically acclaimed worldwide, Kendrick Lamar's latest album "To Pimp A Butterfly," and Kamasi Washington's latest album "The Epic," which is currently causing a stir in the global jazz scene and whose three-day performance in Japan at BLUE NOTE TOKYO has also been a hot topic. More recently, he launched a new project, WOKE, with his close friends Flying Lotus and Shabazz Palaces, and surprised the world by releasing their first single featuring George Clinton. Thundercat's latest album, "The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam," which was released digitally in June of this year, is finally getting its first CD release! This is his first solo album since 2013's "Apocalypse," and it's a highly talked-about release that won "BEST NEW MUSIC" from Pitchfork. Flying Lotus co-produced half of the tracks, and in addition to Kamasi Washington, Herbie Hancock participated on keyboards on "Lone Wolf & Cub." Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, who, like Thundercat, plays an important role in Flying Lotus's works, contributed strings, and Mono/Polly, who also performed in Japan for a Brainfeeder showcase event, participated in the production.
