Contents Introduction [First Press Limited Edition Bonus] Logo Sticker THE DAGGER, a majestic Swedish rock band newly formed by four formidable musicians including former members of GRAVE and DISMEMBER! A proud debut album brimming with the spirit of 70s HR and the power of 80s NWOBHM!! About the Artist The band was formed in Stockholm in 2009. Until then, each member had been active in GRAVE, DISMEMBER, and SIDEBURN, but decided to work together with the same vision. The direction they have newly declared is to build a sound full of the spirit and power of 70s HR and early 80s NWOBHM, utilizing their songwriting skills. They also declared their intention to pursue the essence of classic hard rock/heavy metal, which they loved to listen to. Initially, Fred S.B. (drums), David Blomqvist (guitar), and Tobias Christianson (bass) wrote songs and rehearsed extensively, but finding a suitable singer proved extremely difficult. After three years, Yani Kataya finally joined the band. In August 2013, they released their debut single "Mainline Riders" and then began recording for their debut album. The band's influences included Deep Purple, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, early Scorpions, Thin Lizzy, and many others, including Whitesnake, Riot, Iron Maiden, MSG, Wishbone Ash, Dio, Accept, Judas Priest, Montrose, Wasteland, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, ZZ Top, Saxon, etc. Fred recounts that time. "When we finished the NECRONAUT album and all the songs were done, I felt that these songs weren't suitable for NECRONAUT. David, who was involved in a few tracks, agreed. Then Tobias came along and confessed that he wanted to try making music in a different direction than GRAVE or DISMEMBER! That sparked the idea of ??forming a new band and building the music we truly wanted to hear, in our own way! We were intrigued by that." The completed debut album presents majestic and proud hard rock, blending solid hard rock with bluesy classic styles and a variety of songs. Powerful vocals, classic-style guitar work, and a rhythm section enveloped in flavorful, organic production. We'll be watching to see how this sharp, new hard rock sensation carves out a new path in the world. "If you like traditional 70s hard rock, this album is for you!"
