Contents Introduction The legendary ska-punk band Suicide Machines, whose first visit to Japan in 12 years is still fresh in our memories, have formed Jay Navarro & Traitors, centered around their vocalist Jay, to further explore the essence of ska. Drawing inspiration from 2 Tone ska bands like The Specials, and even further back to rocksteady and reggae, they expertly blend their inherent punk spirit to create a completely original ska sound that goes beyond mere revival?a style that could be described as Detroit 2 Tone ska-punk. This album is a Japan-exclusive compilation featuring tracks from their 2015 US release and this year's 7-inch record, plus a bonus track: a dub mix by Slackers agent Jay. It's sure to be a hit with Suicide Machines fans, as well as anyone who enjoys the ska and reggae vibe of Rancid's fourth album. Recommended by the Japan Ska Punk Union! Detroit 2tone Ska Punk Artist Information Jay of Suicide Machines and Eric of 1592, who have been performing live in the same environment since the early 1990s, had talked about their music but had never played together. This led to the idea of ??forming a band together, and they began writing songs based on reggae and 2 Tone ska sounds that are currently missing from the Detroit scene, exchanging ideas with each other. The songwriting quickly got on track, and after completing about four songs, they began looking for band members. The two of them compiled a list of potential members and contacted them. Once the members came together and the band officially started, the sound that had been resonating in Jay and Eric's minds began to take shape. They will continue to express their feelings for Detroit and their thoughts on the various struggles happening in the world through their music. I really hope you'll come see them live someday!
