Marc Moulin began his career as a jazz pianist in Brussels, Belgium, while studying socioeconomics at university. At that time, Belgium and neighboring France were home to many genuine jazz musicians who had come seeking new opportunities, and Moulin rose to prominence as a sideman for real jazz musicians such as \"Little Giant\" Johnny Griffin and Don Byas. Then, in 1969, he formed a groundbreaking band that incorporated elements of jazz, funk, and rock. That band was PLACEBO. They released three albums before disbanding in 1975, and after a solo career, Marc Moulin formed the band \"TELEX\" in 1978. Alongside Kraftwerk and YMO, they spearheaded the techno movement, releasing five albums before disbanding in 1986, all of which have become techno classics.
