It's easier to imagine Randall and Spunt spitting these tracks underwater from a huge California quarry rather than in a cramped art space just a few blocks from Skid Row in LA. 'Goon's Be Gone' is very jarring, very fertile, and very mature in a sound where it's almost impossible to analyze the various layers of samples, effects, and guitar. It's far more satisfying to simply close your eyes and enjoy it. Ultimately, understanding \"Goons Be Gone\" is incredibly difficult, and the fact that it started in such a small place yet became something so huge is one of No Age's charms.
