Tanukichan's career began when Chaz Bear, aka Toro y Moi, saw one of their early live performances and offered to produce it. Tanukichan released their debut EP, \"Radiolove\" (2016), on Chaz Bear's label, Company Records, followed by their first album, \"Sundays\" (2018), which garnered attention in the US indie scene, being featured in music media such as Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. Their second album, \"GIZMO\" (2023), also released on Company Records, showcased a more refined alternative\/shoegaze sound. They have since gained high acclaim as a contemporary shoegaze artist, expanding their activities to include opening acts for artists such as Alex G, Always, and Melanie Martinez. In October 2023, they released the single \"NPC\" on Carpark Records with Franco Reid as their new producer, and their latest album, \"Circles,\" is scheduled for release in September 2024.
