This is a work that has been particularly difficult to obtain in Japan for a long time, and it is significant that the lyrics of the masterpieces \"Heart Of Weakness\" and \"Plague Waters\" are included with Japanese translations. I am very pleased with the quality of these lyrics. Relive their intense and beautiful passion, which was etched into the era before everything was swallowed up by the internet. The screamo scene of the 2000s was extremely diverse, and unique bands emerged from all over the world. While following the style created by the originators of the 90s, those ideas were reinterpreted in each local scene, and a new generation took them as their own music, believing in them and experimenting with them. I think the 2000s were perhaps an era of trial and error. There were pioneers in the previous generation, but instead of simply imitating their style, they resonated with their way of thinking and philosophy, and while reinterpreting it themselves, they went through trial and error and eventually came face to face with the question of \"who am I?\" When I see the current trend of screamo bands from the 2000s being greatly re-evaluated in the 2020s, I think it's because the traces of trial and error from an era where there were no answers on the internet, and the identity that had to be confronted during that struggle, are permeated into their expression. That's probably what's important in this day and age. Snoras from Norway in Northern Europe made their debut in the scene in 2006 with their first album, \"Heart Of Weakness.\" Although various screamo bands were emerging all over the world at the same time, Snoras's chaotic yet sorrowful expression was highly praised by Japanese listeners. However, it may have been some time after its release before I was actually able to listen to that CD. Many bands release albums with some kind of information beforehand, such as splits or EPs, but Snoras had no such prior information, giving the impression of being a mysterious band. I was astonished to learn that the sound I thought belonged to a band was almost entirely created by Yngve Hilmo alone. It's almost insane. However, I was also convinced that this was precisely why everything was unified and consistent in its expression. In the underground scene where supply is limited, the CD of 'Heart Of Weakness' became highly sought after in the used market. The second album released in 2008, 'Plauge Waters,' also basically remains a Yngve Hilmo solo project, although it features supporting members. However, compared to the first album, which is full of negative emotional expression and a sense of tragedy, there are parts that feel like the energy is directed more positively, and the two albums together feel like one work, representing yin and yang. In fact, the record release features \"Heart Of Weakness\" and \"Plauge Waters\" on sides A and B respectively, fitting onto a single disc. While there's a chaotic song structure, a hard-edged and beautiful string ensemble, and an atmosphere reminiscent of Suis La Lune, who presented beautiful Nordic screamo, Snoras' passionate hardcore, played with a cold, ethereal feel, is perhaps their uniquely local answer. The official spelling of Snoras is \"Sn?ras,\" which means \"avalanche\" in Norwegian. It's a word unique to the northern country and accurately expresses their sound. That's what identity is all about. In carrying out this discography box set project, \"Life In The Gutter,\" which was released on cassette in 2015 in a limited run of only 45 copies, has also been made into a CD and included. Although it's positioned as the concluding work of a trilogy following \"Heart Of Weakness\" and \"Plauge Waters,\" it's made in a simple, unpretentious demo tape style. The reason for this may become clear during this release project.
