Justin K. Broadrick is a well-known early member of NAPALM DEATH, and at just 17 years old, he made a huge impact with his songwriting and performance on the A-side of their debut album, 'Scum' (1987), but left the band shortly after. In 1988, he formed GODFLESH. Inspired by THROBBING GRISTLE and KILLING JOKE, they fused heavy machine beats influenced by hip-hop with heavy guitar riffs, creating a blueprint for industrial metal and influencing subsequent generations. In 2002, the band disbanded due to mental health issues, and Justin continued to work under the name JESU and other names, but reformed as GODFLESH in 2009. Since then, they have released two studio albums and performed in Japan in 2012 and 2015. Even now, Justin is simultaneously working under multiple aliases: with JESU, he creates dreamy heavy music with a new interpretation of shoegaze; with JK FLESH, he pursues downtempo\/techno influenced by dubstep; and with ZONAL, where he reunited with his TECHNO ANIMAL-era ally Kevin Martin (THE BUG), he continues the TA style while pursuing an experimental side. Amidst all this, Justin has been leaning towards the creative mode of his main act, GODFLESH. This album, which he spent most of the pandemic creating, is his first new work in six years. With its hip-hop-inspired thick beats and surging heavy guitars, it directly evokes his masterpiece 1992 release 'Pure' and exudes a sense of authority.
