In May 1956, Kenny Dorham performed with his sextet at the Caf? Bohemia, a club in New York. Six months earlier, he had performed as a member of Art Blakey \u0026amp; The Jazz Messengers, creating the masterpiece \"Jazz Messengers at Caf? Bohemia,\" and his playing at its peak is still evident on this album. With a lineup of J.R. Monterose (ts), Kenny Burrell (g), Bobby Timmons (p), Sam Jones (b), and Arthur Edgehill (ds), this masterpiece allows listeners to fully enjoy the atmosphere of hard bop at the time and is still considered one of Dorham's representative works. The remastering was handled by Kevin Gray, the master who has worked on the \"Tone Poet\" series. Cutting and remastering were done from the original master tapes, and the natural and warm sound, which has been highly praised in the past, provides an experience as if you were listening to the analog tape itself. The booklet contains a wealth of content, including previously unpublished photographs by Francis Wolff and an insightful essay by Sid Schwartz. The Japanese edition will be released in a hybrid SACD format as a unique project. A translation of the booklet will also be included.
