They were poor, but they had hope. Umi, the eldest daughter of a matriarchal family, is a second-year high school student. She lost her father at sea and helps her working mother, taking care of a large household of six people, including lodgers. The boys they face off against are the head of the newspaper club and the student council president. This is a coming-of-age story centered around them.
