After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan Musashi High School, he studied in Europe, attending the Conservatoire National Sup?rieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, the Berlin University of the Arts and its graduate school, and the Lake Como International Piano Academy. He has studied with Bruno Rigutto, Marie-Fran?oise B?cke, Klaus Hellwig, Kazumi Igeta, and Kyoko Sato. In 2003, at the age of 20, he won first prize (the first Japanese to do so) and the Chopin Prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition in the United States. He has also won prizes at international competitions such as the Rubinstein, Santander, and Gina Bachauer competitions, and actively performs throughout the United States, Europe, South Africa, and Asia. She has given recitals in prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic and Konzerthaus, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Radio France in Paris, Victoria Hall in Geneva, and the National Concert Hall in Madrid. She has also appeared at music festivals around the world. In Japan, she has been invited to perform in series such as Pianist 100, Toppan Pianists, and Piano ?toile. She has performed with orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Orchestra, Orchestre National de l'?le-de-France, New Japan Philharmonic, and Japan Century Symphony Orchestra.
