A true complete collection including unreleased songs and alternate versions! Recorded in chronological order of recording dates for the 1965 album \"Help!\" This is the fifth installment of the grand project to collect all of The Beatles' recordings. Following the massive success of their 1964 film \"A Hard Day's Night,\" which made them global idols, The Beatles made a musical leap in 1965 by incorporating keyboards and string instruments. This volume chronologically records the recording sessions for their second starring film, the album of the same name, \"Help!\", from February 15 to June 17, 1965. The album was produced concurrently with the film's production, with recordings of \"Ticket to Ride,\" \"Yes It Is,\" and \"I'll Give You Advice\" being made just before filming began in February. Powerful drum patterns and arpeggio riffs on a 12-string electric guitar. \"Ticket to Ride,\" sung by John and Paul over a mysterious drone effect that progresses solely on the A chord, became the lead single. George surprised everyone by bringing in two of his own compositions, \"I Need You\" and \"You Like Me Too Much.\" Hot love is a source of creativity, and these two songs are full of his feelings for Patti. The introduction of keyboards, which can be said to be a characteristic of this album, becomes evident as early as Paul's \"The Night Before.\" Thus, although Ringo's R\u0026amp;R \"If You've Got Trouble\" was the only track that was cut, they finished recording nine songs and headed out for filming. On April 13th, in between filming in the perpetually sunny Bahamas, snowy Austria, and London, they recorded the title track, \"Help!\". This became the master of the stereo mix, but on May 24th, they re-recorded the vocals and chorus to complete the mono version. On May 10th, John delivered a powerful vocal performance on two songs, \"Bad Boy\" and \"Dizzy Miss Lizzy,\" and June 14th became \"Paul's Day,\" a date etched in rock history. After the fiery shout of \"I'm Down,\" he recorded the quiet masterpiece \"Yesterday\" as an acoustic performance (strings were overdubbed later). He also completed the folk and country-style \"Dream Man.\" The following day, the 15th, saw the recording of \"It's Only Love,\" a song with a melody typical of John. John himself was not satisfied with the rhyming lyrics he wrote, and has even called it a \"throwaway song,\" but it has many fans. On the final day, Ringo sang \"Act Naturally,\" a song perfectly suited to the movie \"Help!\", with lyrics like \"They're going to put me in a movie. It's about a sad man. That's perfect. I don't need to act, I can just be myself,\" and the album \"Help!\" was completed. The bonus tracks include two singles by female singer Alma Cogan (John's mistress!), produced by G. Martin and featuring Paul on tambourine. This album uses licensed photos from Getty Images Japan and is licensed by the Japanese Copyright Association (JASRAC).
