Before recording the orchestra, roadie Mal Evans counted the measures leading up to Paul's middle section as \"16, 17, 18...24.\" The process proceeds with an alarm clock ringing and Paul beginning to sing. After the 40-piece orchestra session on February 10th, the overall picture of the song finally becomes clear. And at the very end, in the instant the orchestra stops playing, the Beatles try to play the final chord by humming \"Ahhhh.\" After several takes where they hummed while checking the pitch on the piano, it was changed to piano. This album allows you to hear those actual sounds. In addition to \"A Day in the Life,\" the following songs are also included from the working masters of the recordings that progressed day by day. First, from the \"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band\" session that began on February 1st, the basic version centered around Paul's electric guitar is a standout, crisp rock track. Then, \"Good Morning, Good Morning\" from the 8th is a basic version that will make you dizzy with its storm of odd time signatures. Furthermore, \"Fixing a Hole,\" recorded on the 9th not at Abbey Road but at Regent Studios, is a version where you can hear Paul's ad-libbed vocals at the end for a longer time. The \"Mr. Kite\" sessions from February 17th, and the \"Lovely Rita\" session on the 23rd, feature a highlight take 8 from a 12-string guitar test run. March 1st marks the beginning of \"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,\" three vibrant takes that truly represent this album.
