While influenced by the \"punk movement\" that swept the world in 1977, they built a style characterized by high musical skill, a heavy sound, and the portrayal of established characters. The band name \"DEATH SS\" literally represents the death of Steve Sylvester, symbolizing his human state, and was chosen to signify his rebirth under the light of the occult. With aspects of being the originators of epic\/death\/black metal, they developed sensational and theatrical shows and gained a cult following a few years later, but the original band disbanded in 1982. However, in 1988, the band reformed with Sylvester at the helm and released their first album, \"In DEATH of Steve Sylvester.\" Since then, while there have been member changes other than Sylvester, the band has intermittently released 10 studio albums, successfully establishing an unshakeable position in Europe, including Italy. After the 2021 album \"X,\" another major member change occurred, and the current lineup came together to create their 11th album, \"The Entity.\" Working with British producer Tom Dalgety, who has worked with Rammstein and Ghost, they completed this masterpiece, a horror concept album centered around the theme of doppelgangers. The sound of this album is a straightforward, catchy shock rock reminiscent of Alice Cooper, the pioneer of this genre.
