Dance is movement, it's expression, and in a sense, it's the same as music. That is, it's about expressing your spirit through your body. This album is exploring that point,\" Kamasi reflects. While his previous albums dealt with cosmic ideas and existential concepts, 'Fearless Movement' focuses on the everyday, exploring life on Earth. This shift in perspective is largely due to the birth of Kamasi's first child a few years ago. \"Becoming a father suddenly opens up a whole new horizon for your life. Not only does it make your mortality more apparent, but it also reveals your immortality. That is, your daughter will live on and see things I will never see. I had to accept that fact, and it influenced the music I make,\" says Kamasi Washington. The album features not only Kamasi's daughter (the melody for \"Asha The First\" was written during her initial piano experimentation period), but also numerous new and old collaborators. Andre 3000 (OutKast) plays flute, George Clinton, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Inglewood rapper D Smoke provide vocals, and Taj and Russ Austin of Coast Contra, twin sons of West Coast legend Russ Cass, also participate. Furthermore, he collaborates with a dream team of lifelong friends and collaborators: Thundercat, Terrace Martin, Patrice Quinn, Brandon Coleman, and DJ Battlecat. \"Prologue\" was released in advance with a video directed by longtime collaborator AG Rojas.
