LAKE, the legendary songwriting band from the American Northwest, has released their first new album in five years. This new masterpiece shines brightly even within LAKE's discography, which is full of timeless masterpieces. Armed with the overwhelmingly high success rate of songwriting by Eli Moore and Ashley Erickson, and the superb arrangements by their excellent mixed chorus and multi-instrumentalists, LAKE has been spinning a sweet, mellow, and groovy pop sound that incorporates diverse elements such as orchestral pop, AOR, soft rock, 80s UK pop, soul, folk, and guitar pop since the mid-2000s, preceding bands like Men I Trust. Five years have passed since their planned but ultimately cancelled Japan tour in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now their landmark 10th album overall, and their second album as the Eli + Ashley + Andrew Dorsett trio, is finally complete. This is the first release from Philadelphia's Don Giovanni, a label that has produced a diverse range of artists overseas, including Waxahatchee and Moor Mother. Like their recent works, it was produced at The Unknown studio in Anacortes, Washington, which could be considered LAKE's home studio. The album features an unprecedented number of guest appearances, including Nicolas Kergovich, who shares lead vocals on M4, as well as Karl Blau and Steven Steinbrink, giving it a refreshingly open feel. M10, a song from the animated series \"Adventure Time\" (originally from 2013's \"Circular Doorway\"), is dramatically reimagined from bossa nova to uptempo rock, and following their cover of Bert Jansch on their previous album \"Roundelay,\" they brilliantly reinterpret ABBA (M8) in their own LAKE style. All 10 tracks are excellent. Building on their experience exploring Stereolab-like loops in their previous work, the arrangements and mixes are superb, skillfully blending that experience into the classic LAKE sound while pursuing even greater sophistication and comfort. A new masterpiece that shines brightly even within their discography, which is full of masterpieces. Congratulations on their 20th anniversary. Released overseas only on vinyl and digital. CD release is Japan only. LAKE Formed in the summer of 2005 in Olympia, Washington, centered around Eli Moore and Ashley Erickson. They have released numerous works on prestigious US indie labels such as K Records, and have many fans among musicians both in Japan and abroad. Their song \"Island Song,\" which Ashley provided as a solo artist for the popular animated series \"Adventure Time,\" was a huge hit, and their concerts in Japan in 2012 and 2014 were both well-received. Media reviews and more Congratulations on their 20th anniversary! LAKE, the proud band that produces masterpieces from the Pacific Northwest of America, releases their first new album in 5 years!
