After the release of their masterpiece \"Onze Danses Pour Combattre La Migraine\" (1977) and their second album \"Un Peu De L'?me Des Bandits\" (1980), Marc and Vincent joined The Honeymoon Killers and established the independent label Crammed Discs in Brussels, Belgium. For the past 40 years, they have continued to release progressive and fresh music from all over the world. It seems that the last activity under the name Aksak Maboul was composing music for Yohji Yamamoto's fashion show in 1986. (Unfortunately, this recording remained unreleased despite being on the release plan.) In 2015, he suddenly released \"EX-FUTUR ALBUM,\" a legendary album that was produced between 1980 and 1983 but remained unfinished, more than 30 years later. (This album was released under the name Veronique Vincent \u0026amp; Aksak Maboul with The Honeymoon Killers.) This release seems to have been spurred on by the reactions of young people close to him who were unaware of the original. American bands Luaka Bop and Nonesuch followed in the footsteps of Crammed, and Juana Molina, having left Domino Records in the UK, chose Crammed as her new base in Europe. Aksak Maboul's music contains foreshadowing that invites listeners into this vast musical world, and is it premature to view Crammed's releases as a trajectory that resonates with, reflects, embodies, and evolves\/develops the various visions contained within them? When we talk about music, many of the vocabulary, categories, and labels that we use without much thought miss the mark and slip through the cracks of their music. They don't loudly proclaim anything as pioneers, but in this age where current music and recordings from 50 to 70 years ago are listened to side by side, we can see from various records that Aksak Maboul and Crammed's releases have become blueprints for subsequent music. And it also makes so much sense with the kind of label that Marc is running. It's very open, and they're very open-minded people, accepting the differences, and it's what I find most attractive: the fusion, when you go, get some DNA from here and there and over here and then cram it all into a song.
