There are many bands, such as Opeth, that started with Swedish death metal and succeeded by following their own path, but in Therion's case, they found their way in a symphonic direction, incorporating orchestras and choirs. The decisive moment in establishing that symphonic direction was their 5th album, 'Theli' (1996). This album, featuring a choir of over 10 members delivering heavy choruses, became a landmark in symphonic metal. After that, they introduced a large number of orchestral instruments and established immense popularity, especially in Europe. Their 2021 album, \"Leviathan,\" was in a sense a unique work. This is because the concept of this work was \"doing nothing new.\" A band like Therion, which has always continued to take on new challenges, has reached a new frontier. That is, \"deliberately repeating what they have done in the past for the sake of their fans.\" \"Leviathan\" is conceived as a trilogy, and this release is Part 2. Of course, the concept remains the same: \"doing nothing new,\" but this time the theme is to recreate the mysterious and melancholic atmosphere of their 1998 masterpiece, \"Vovin\"! With female vocals and a choir playing a major role, this work is nothing less than \"what the fans want.\" This is Therion that fans have been waiting to hear.
