Produced by Emperor's Iishan! A must-listen for fans of Emperor and Iishan's solo work. Behemoth's Nergal and members of Trivium also make guest appearances. When you hear \"Ibaraki,\" every Japanese person will think of Ibaraki Prefecture. However, Ibaraki is not about Ibaraki Prefecture. So is it Ibaraki City in Osaka? Not exactly, but not entirely wrong either. Among the demons that are said to have ravaged Kyoto during the Heian period, there was one named Ibaraki Doji, and there is a theory that this demon was from Ibaraki City in Osaka. The true identity of Ibaraki, who has reappeared in the world in the 21st century, is Matthew Heafy. Known in Japan as Kiichi, he is the guitarist and vocalist of Trivium. Rumors of him working on a black metal solo project had been circulating for about 10 years. Initially, under the project name Mrityu, Kiichi envisioned playing Norwegian-style black metal and sought advice from Iisan of Emperor. He was impressed by Iisan's advice, \"You're not Norwegian, so you don't need to play Norwegian style,\" and decided to use Japan, one of his roots, as his theme. And finally, Ibaraki's debut album, \"Rashomon,\" was completed. Of course, Iisan was in charge of production. Although the lyrics are in English, all the song titles are in Japanese. The sound is also full of Japanese elements. Furthermore, there are symphonic parts and progressive developments using Hammond organ and Mellotron, resulting in a wonderful work that incorporates the characteristics of both Kiichi and Iisan. For fans of Emperor, especially those who like Iisan's solo work, \"Rashomon\" will be right up their alley. The members of Trivium, and even Nergal from Behemoth, will be making guest appearances! Farida Lemusi (formerly of The Devil's Blood, currently of Morases) and Gottfried Orman (formerly of In Solitude) will also be making guest appearances.
