This album explodes with Necrophobic's signature style of death metal, thoroughly evil yet moderately melodic! Necrophobic, a Swedish band formed in 1989, centered around David Parland (G) and Joachim Steiner (Dr). Sadly, David passed away in 2013, but he was none other than Blackmoon, who would later form Dark Funeral with Lord Ahriman. After releasing several demos, they released the EP \"The Call\" in 1993 on the American cult label Wild Ragz Records, and their debut album, \"The Nocturnal Silence,\" on Sweden's Black Mark Productions. While the band name is clearly Slayer, as evidenced by the recording at Sunlight Studios and production by Thomas Skogsberg, their sound basically followed the Swedish death metal tradition. However, as can be seen from the fact that Blackmoon formed the band, Necrophobic's style had an evil undertone, which was also their selling point. In 1996, they released a four-track EP, \"Spawned by Evil,\" which included covers of Venom, Slayer, and Bathory, indicating that Necrophobic's roots lie in evil thrash metal, meaning their origins are different from so-called Swedish death metal. After numerous lineup changes, they released eight albums. And now, their ninth album, \"Dawn of the Damned,\" is being released. Their previous album in 2018, \"Mark of the Necrogram,\" was interesting because it marked the return of both original vocalist Anders Strokerk and mid-period guitarist and main songwriter Sebastian Ramstead, as it was the first time the two had worked together, as their tenures had not overlapped until then. In this album, \"Dawn of the Damned,\" while the bassist has changed, the Anders + Sebastian duo remains the same. The content speaks for itself. Necrophobic Swedish death metal, infused with black metal flavor, explodes once again. The exquisite balance of thoroughly evil yet appropriately melodic is sure to resonate with Japanese listeners. Death metal, melodic death metal, black metal, and thrash metal?this high-quality album will appeal to fans of all extreme metal genres.
