With the addition of Jack Owen (G), the golden duo from the early Cannibal Corpse days is reunited! A must-listen for all death metal fans! Six Feet Under was formed in 1993. It originally started as a side project by Chris Burns, who was the vocalist for Cannibal Corpse at the time, and Alan West, the guitarist for Obituary. In 1995, they made their album debut with \"Haunted\" on Metal Blade, the label to which Cannibal Corpse belonged. It was a highly anticipated debut, with production by Brian Slagel and Scott Burns. As they continued their active work, Six Feet Under gradually grew beyond the scope of a side project. As a result, in 1995, during the recording of \"Vile,\" Chris was fired from Cannibal Corpse. From then on, Six Feet Under became his main focus. Chris started Six Feet Under because he wanted to play death metal that didn't rely on speed. Unlike thrash metal, the essence of death metal isn't speed. Rather, the heavy, sludgy sound rooted in bands like Hellhammer and Celtic Frost is the identity of death metal. However, in the early 90s, with blast beats dominating the scene, the idea that \"death metal = high-speed drumming\" was starting to take hold. Amidst this, Chris started a band that focused on slow to mid-tempo, groovy music, getting closer to the true essence of death metal. Currently, Chris is the only original member left, but even in their 17th album, \"Nightmares of the Decomposed,\" which is being released now, their philosophy remains completely unwavering. Of particular note is the addition of Jack Owen (G). Jack is, of course, the original guitarist of Cannibal Corpse. Having joined the band shortly after the release of their previous album, \"Torment,\" he has been composing music one after another for lyrics written by Chris, truly marking the return of this golden duo. Chris is also overjoyed about his return, saying, \"It feels like coming home to be working with Jack Owen again. Home full of corpses. Jack's riffs have ignited my creative drive.\" Dynamic, heavy, and catchy, this album has everything a Six Feet Under fan could want. \"Nightmares of the Decomposed\" is a must-listen album for all death metal fans.
