Magnum was formed in Birmingham, England in 1972 and debuted in 1978 with the album \"KINGDOM OF MADNESS.\" From the 1980s to the early 1990s, they produced numerous hits, including their 3rd album \"CHASE THE DRAGON\" (1982: peaked at No. 17 on the UK charts), \"WINGS OF HEAVEN\" (1988: peaked at No. 5), and their 8th album \"GOODNIGHT L.A.\" (1990: peaked at No. 9). However, due to changes in the music scene, they disbanded in 1996. But they reunited in 2001 and have since continued to release studio albums at a pace of approximately one every two years. Their 17th album, \"ON THE 13TH DAY,\" released in 2012, entered the UK Top 50 charts (peaking at No. 43) for the first time in a while. This was followed by their 18th album, \"ESCAPE FROM THE SHADOW GARDEN\" (2014), which peaked at No. 38, and their 19th album, \"SACRED BLOOD ?gDIVINE?h With their album \"LIES\" (2016) reaching a peak of 31st place and their 20th album \"LOST ON THE ROAD TO ETERNITY\" (2018) reaching a peak of 15th place, the band's chart rankings have steadily risen with each album. As the band's popularity continues to expand, they have completed their 21st album, \"The Serpent Rings,\" after a two-year hiatus. This album was created with a new lineup, featuring original members Bob Catley (vocals) and Tony Larkin (guitar), along with Rick Benton (keyboards) and Lee Morris (drums), who are participating for the second time on this album. Furthermore, since Al Barrow, who had played bass for a long time since the band's reunion, left in 2019, they have welcomed Dennis Ward (bass), formerly of Pink Cream 69. Like their recent works, this album is a parade of dramatic hard rock tunes, and is also characterized by its fantastical mood. The album features elegant tracks such as \"Where Are You Eden?\" and \"The Archway of Tears\" with orchestral sounds, the graceful \"The Serpent Rings\" and \"The Great Unknown,\" and the mellow \"The Last One on Earth,\" while also including the catchy rock tune \"Not Forgiven,\" offering plenty of rock excitement. Tony's exceptional songwriting skills are on full display throughout the album. The lyrical vocal melodies have a wet, British feel, and Bob's emotional singing is superb, making this a masterpiece that truly exudes the style of veterans. The album artwork was created by Rodney Matthews.
