Merging Flare started their activities in 2001, originating from DISEASE, a cover band formed by Kasperi Heikkinen (guitar) and Henri Pye (drums), who attended the same school. While juggling other bands, they produced three demos, and in their 10th year since formation, they made their debut with the album \"Reverence\" (2011). This album garnered attention for featuring Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray on four tracks, but in fact, Merging Flare members Kasperi and Matthias Palm (vocals) are also active in Guardians of Mankind, a Gamma Ray tribute band well-known to fans. Kasperi has even filled in for an injured Henju Richter of Gamma Ray, demonstrating that they are recognized by the original band themselves. While \"Reverence\" shows influences from Gamma Ray, it also features songs that boldly incorporate synthesizers, giving it a style that sets it apart from typical German melodic power metal. After releasing this album, the band performed a few live shows in their native Finland before going on hiatus. Afterwards, Kasperi worked as a member of U.D.O., then joined Beast in Black, formed by former Battle Beast Anton Kabanen, releasing the albums \"Berserker\" (2017) and \"From Hell With Love\" (2019). Meanwhile, he restarted Merging Flare and has now released their second album, \"Revolt Regime,\" after approximately eight years. With one guitarist having left, this album was created by the four members Matthias Palm, Kasperi Heikkinen, Henri Pye, and Harri Leinonen (bass). With fewer synthesizer parts, the overall sound is sharper, and it is a melodic power metal album with memorable catchy vocal melodies. With a focus on fast-paced tracks, songs featuring beautiful melodic lead guitar, and aggressive, exhilarating numbers, every song is brimming with the essence of heavy metal. Matthias's powerful, husky vocals and Casperi's technically brilliant guitar solos are also major draws.
