The Oath was formed in 2012, centered around the alluring German female singer Johanna Sadonis and the Swedish female guitarist Linnea Olsson. Unfortunately, they disbanded in 2014 after releasing only one album, but their vocalist Johanna formed a new band, Lucifer, with Andrew Prestige, the drummer of The Oath and also a member of ANGEL WITCH. They signed with Rise Above, run by former CATHEDRAL member Lee Dorrian, and began preparing for album production when former CATHEDRAL member Gary Jennings joined the band. They released their debut album \"Lucifer\" in June 2015, and the following year, 2016, they performed their first concert in Japan. After that, they changed labels and Garry left the band. Nicke of The Hellacopters and Imperial State Electric made a surprise move as their drummer, and Robin of Saturn, who accompanied them on their first tour of Japan, joined as their guitarist. In 2018, they released their first new album in three years, \"Lucifer II,\" and returned to Japan for another tour in 2019.
