After studying at Grant MacEwan Music College in Alberta, he moved to Los Angeles in 1993 to further his studies at the Musicians Institute (PIT). He graduated with Vocal Honors and the following year was awarded \"Rock Drummer of the Year.\" Since then, he has been active in sessions and tours with numerous legendary musicians such as Glenn Hughes, Joe Lynn Turner, Billy Sheehan, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Michael Schenker.
