About the Artist THE LINDA LINDAS: Formed in 2018 after former Dum Dum Girls frontwoman Kristin Kontrol invited them to Girlschool LA (a music festival focused on women's awareness and unity), the band has since held DIY gigs around LA, opened for punk icon Alice Bag, and opened for the reunion of riot grrrl band Bikini Kill. They eventually began writing their own music, including a track featured in the Netflix documentary \"The Claudia Kishi Club\" (2020). In December 2020, they released their self-titled debut EP. A few months later, they appeared in Amy Poehler's film \"Moxie!\". On May 4, 2021, their performance at the Los Angeles Public Library was streamed as part of the AAPI Heritage Month event. The highlight of their 40-minute set was their intense performance of \"Racist, Sexist Boy.\" The clip has been viewed over 4 million times on Instagram and has received praise from Hayley Williams, Questlove, Flea, and members of Rage Against the Machine and Sonic Youth. Afterward, she wrote new songs while continuing to attend classes remotely.
