Steve Nieve, the keyboard player for The Attractions, produced an album for the British country duo, My Darling Clementine (=MDC). In April 2024, when Elvis Costello and Steve came to Japan for a joint performance, Steve approached Toms Cabin's Hiroshi Asada to discuss an MDC tour. Steve came to see Asada's country band perform to discuss who would back him, and agreed that Hiroshi's band would be fine. That's how MDC's first visit to Japan was decided. My Darling Clementine (MDC) was formed in 2010 in Birmingham, England, by Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgliesh as a duo singing a repertoire centered on country music. In 2020, they released the album \"Country Darkness,\" produced by Steve Nieve, featuring all Elvis Costello songs. Their innovative approach, breathing new life into Costello's works, surprised critics and was well-received by Elvis Costello fans for its deeper expression of the original emotions.
