Anisokei was formed in 2007 in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, by Christoph Wi?orek (clean vocals, guitar) and Philipp Kretschmer (guitar). Inspired by the lyrics \"So, Annie are you ok?\" from Michael Jackson's hit song \"Smooth Criminal,\" they chose their band name. After several member changes, they released the EP \"YOU, ALWAYS\" in 2010. This album showcased their excellent melodic sense, blending clean vocals with shouts in a screamo style. With members Christoph, Philip, Dave Grunwald (shouts), Nico Verne (drums), and Simon Sadiwasher (bass), they released their first album, \"The Lucid Dolly (Mar)\" (2012). This album also featured a brilliant fusion of aggressive music and beautiful melodies in screamo, and as they became known in Japan, the band, with Norbet Kayo (bass) on the roster, had the opportunity to perform live not only in their native Germany but also in the Netherlands and other countries. Furthermore, in 2014, they toured Japan as the opening act for fellow German screamo bands Eskimo Coleboy and Silverstein, and in 2015 they released their second album, \"ENIGMATIC SMILE.\" Demonstrating their growth as a band, particularly in terms of arrangements, the band toured Austria and the UK as support for the British band Fearless Vampire Killers. In 2016, they released their EP \"ANNIE ARE YOU OKAY?\", which featured covers of Michael Jackson's \"Beat It\" and \"Thriller,\" followed by their 3rd album, \"DEVIL MAY CARE.\" Armed with powerful songs that effectively blended quiet and dynamic elements, they performed at numerous festivals in 2017, even venturing to Russia, before finally releasing their 4th album, \"ARMS.\" The songs skillfully intertwine lyrical vocal melodies sung with clean vocals and intense shouts, sometimes fierce, sometimes beautiful, and sometimes incorporating hardcore-like parts as well as emo-rock-style sections with electronic sounds. In this album, Christoph's high-pitched vocals, in particular, have an outstanding impact, and the album is filled with surprisingly high-quality tracks.
