Akira Kajiyama, a guitarist boasting one of the best techniques in Japan, made a sensational debut in 1987 with the single \"Crazy For Your Love\" by his own orthodox melodic metal band, PRECIOUS, showcasing astonishingly fast playing that surpassed even Paul Gilbert, who was considered the fastest guitarist in the world at the time. After PRECIOUS disbanded, he met Joe Lynn Turner, the former vocalist of RAINBOW, and began participating in his album \"UNDER COVER 2\" (1999). He co-wrote half of the songs on \"HOLY MAN\" (2000) and all of the songs on \"SLAM\". Since then, he has consistently played guitar at Joe's Japanese performances, including those of the HUGHES TURNER PROJECT. In 2005, he released \"FIRE WITHOUT FLAME\" under the name AKIRA KAJIYAMA + JOE LYNN TURNER, featuring Joe on his solo album. Separately from his collaborations with Joe, in 2003 he also began activities under the name GOLDBRICK, featuring Yukio Morikawa (vocals) of the current ANTHEM, releasing CDs such as \"GOLDBRICK,\" \"LIVE! GROOVY NIGHTS 2003,\" and \"GOLDBRICK II,\" as well as the DVD \"MAX BODY GROOVE.\" In 2006, he contributed two songs (and played guitar) to Takenori Shimoyama's (vocals) solo album \"SINGER,\" and further collaborated with Shimoyama on the album \"INTO THE DEEP\" (2008) under the name AKIRA KAJIYAMA \u0026amp; TAKENORI SHIMOYAMA. In 2014, Kajiyama coincidentally met Shigeaki Fujii, a vocalist with astonishing vocal talent, and they have since collaborated on numerous session live performances. Now, having selected Fujii to collaborate on an album, Kajiyama has revived the GOLDBRICK name. Kajiyama's signature melodic sense and Fujii's high-pitched voice have been brilliantly utilized to create GOLDBRICK's new album, \"THE BOUNDARY,\" a world-class masterpiece of melodic hard rock.
