Initially, they called themselves \"BREAK DOWN A VENUE,\" but later adopted their current name, \"VENUES.\" They cite bands that influenced them, such as PARKWAY DRIVE, ADEPT, SILVERSTEIN, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, UNDEROATH, ARCHITECTS, and VANNA. Despite their relatively short career, the band has steadily built their reputation, sharing the stage with acts such as ESKIMO CALLBOY, CALLEJON, DEEZ NUTS, CALIBAN, and ATTILA. Their latest album, \"Aspire,\" is being released by Arising Empire, a new German label. Arising Empire is a sub-label of Nuclear Blast, one of Europe's largest independent labels, and features artists from different genres than the main label. In \"The Longing,\" Knives drives the song with a voice reminiscent of Hayley Williams (Paramore). It's not just the vocals that show growth; this album features emotional and anthemic tracks, including \"We Are One,\" boasting a level of sophistication that's hard to believe is their debut.
