Under the name of their predecessor band, \"Burn the Priest,\" they release a cover album dedicated to their great predecessors! Lamb of God is considered one of the most important bands in the modern heavy rock scene. Their recent albums, \"Wrath\" (2009), \"Resolution\" (2012), and \"VII Sturm und Drang\" (2015), have all reached the Top 3 on the US charts. Their live performances have also captivated the world, and their spectacular performance at \"Knotfest\" in 2016 is still fresh in people's memories. Chris Adler (drums) accompanied Megadeth on tour and was asked to officially join them, but chose to remain with Lamb of God, demonstrating the strong bond between them. Now a force that shakes the core of the American rock scene, their starting point was the underground. This album delves into their roots, and for that reason, it was released under their original band name, \"Burn the Priest,\" before they adopted the name Lamb of God. The album features covers of songs by a diverse range of artists, from legendary East Coast hardcore bands like Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Cro Magus, and Quicksand, to Seattle hardcore band The Accused, industrial metal icon Ministry, the solitary heavy rock band Melvins, the crossover thrash project S.O.D. (which includes members of Anthrax), and Steve Albini's Big Black. These are bands that influenced Lamb of God, and the album also serves as an excellent introduction for listeners looking to venture into the vast ocean of hardcore. Furthermore, the album is a personal tribute from the band, including a cover of a song by Slyang Rayos, who hail from Richmond, Virginia, the same hometown as Lamb of God, and whom Randy Blythe (vocals) calls \"the greatest band from Richmond of all time.\" Titled \"Legion:XX\" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of \"Burn the Priest,\" released in 1999 on Philadelphia's independent label Legion Records, this album is a personal tribute from the band. Most of the band members are the same as those from the \"Burn the Priest\" album (1999), with Will Adler (guitar), the only one who joined later, being Chris Adler's brother and therefore very familiar with the Burn the Priest era. Each song retains the essence of the original while being infused with Lamb of God's heaviness, groove, and Randy's roar to the fullest. Following the release of this album, Lamb of God was chosen to support Slayer on their final world tour. Legion:XX is a special work in which the successor to the new generation of metal traces back to his own origins.
