Partnering with Danish producer\/guitarist S?ren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp, etc.), this album is packed with catchy hard rock numbers centered around Marco's groovy bass! It also includes a cover of Thin Lizzy's \"Chinatown,\" sung by Mike Tramp! Born in San Diego, California, Marco Mendoza (b, vo) played in various local cover bands before leading his own project, STRAIT JACKET. While there, he caught the eye of Tommy Austin (ds) of Blue Murder, and joined the band as the replacement for fellow fretless bassist Tony Franklin. After participating in the album \"Nothing But Trouble\" (1993), he also played with the reunited Thin Lizzy under John Sykes. Furthermore, after working as John's right-hand man on albums such as Sykes's \"Out of My Tree\" (1995), he participated in the tour of Whitesnake, who reformed in 2003. He also played on the album \"World Play\" (2005) by Soul Circus, led by Neal Schon. Meanwhile, Marco released the live album \"Live in L.A.\" (1998) with a jazz\/fusion instrumental trio he formed with Joey Heredia (drums) and Renato Neato (keyboards). He then released his first solo album \"Live for Tomorrow\" (2007) and his second solo album \"Casa Mendoza\" (2010) under the name CASA MENDOZA. After working with Lynch Mob and Black Star Riders, which evolved from the reunited Thin Lizzy, he is currently mainly active with The Dead Daisies. This third solo album, \"Viva La Rock,\" mainly features songs written over the past seven years. Danish producer\/guitarist S?ren Andersen, known for his work with Glenn Hughes and Mike Tramp, was fully involved in the recording, which took place in his hometown of Copenhagen. The album's musical style is melodic hard rock centered on groovy rhythms, with a diverse range of songs from upbeat tunes to ballads. It's an interesting work, featuring guest appearances by Mike Tramp and Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses (who Marco previously played with in The Dead Daisies), as well as a cover of Thin Lizzy's \"Chinatown\" and Ted Nugent's \"Hey Baby,\" a band Marco played in.
